I said: “I am grateful for your teachings, Diting. Truly, as a Dharma protector beside a great Bodhisattva, your words are extraordinary. I sincerely rejoice in your accomplishments!”
I then asked Earth Store Bodhisattva: “Regarding that female soul from earlier, you said she practiced Buddhadharma in past lives, yet she has been consigned to the Avīci Hell, never to transcend. Does that mean she has no hope at all?”
Earth Store Bodhisattva gave further instruction: “I told her to repent. Though she spoke of amending her ways, her mind has not yet reached genuine remorse. She only wishes to escape immediately because the sufferings of the Avīci Hell are unbearable. After a period of time, when her mind becomes purer, I shall return to save her. For now, she still needs to temper her mind amid the torments of the Avīci Hell.”
I said: “Earth Store Bodhisattva truly abides by the vow: ‘I vow not to attain Buddhahood until the hells are emptied.’ I long to learn under your guidance!”
Ayù felt boundless gratitude for the Bodhisattva’s teachings and guidance!
Disciple Ayù wholeheartedly prostrated to this great compassionate saviour, who alleviates sufferings through the Ten Wheels, bringing benefit to beings both in the mortal world and the nether realm. Homage to the greatly sagely, greatly kind, greatly vowed Earth Store Bodhisattva Mahasattva!
After paying homage to Earth Store Bodhisattva, I returned by white lotus flower.

Grateful for the empowerment of the Buddha! I departed riding a white lotus flower.
“Amitabha!” I, Ayù, pressed my palms together in greeting to the Magistrate. “Magistrate! I wish to ask, apart from Earth Store Bodhisattva who abides often in the hells, are there other noble sages who rescue beings from suffering within the netherworld?”
