The first category: Those fully controlled by others and forced into sex work, with no means of escape. They feel no pleasure during sexual acts. If they later gain freedom, sincerely repent their karmic burdens and never repeat such conduct, they may avoid punishment in the hells.
The second category: Those who engage in sex work for money. Each act in life diminishes one month of blessings and lifespan. After death, they endure eighty thousand years of torment in the hells for sexual misconduct. Upon completing this sentence, they are reborn as animals for eight hundred years. Even if they regain human form afterward, they face a fate of lowly station as a retribution.
The third category of prostitutes, like the second type of clients, is driven by overwhelming desire. They squander their human existence in indulgence and employ aids to seek physical stimulation. Each act committed in life reduces blessings and lifespan by two months. After death, they endure one hundred and fifty thousand years of torment in the hells for sexual misconduct. Once this punishment ends, they will be reborn as lowly animals for two thousand years, and upon returning to the human form, suffer the fate of humble status.
There are two categories of procurers.
The first type takes up this trade temporarily for money. If they awaken to the truth, quit the trade permanently afterward, and engage in sincere and profound repentance, their karmic punishment in hell may be mitigated. Still, each act they commit while alive shortens their blessings and lifespan by one and a half months. After their mortal life ends, they serve one hundred thousand years of punishment in the Rolling Blaze Hell.
The second type harbors malicious intentions. They control prostitutes, are consumed by rampant personal desire, act out of pure selfishness, and even scheme to frame others. Their blessings and lifespan are depleted throughout their lifetime. Posthumously, they are confined to the Rolling Blaze Hell and cannot be released until every prostitute they victimized has been reborn into human bodies. Following their hellish sentence, they transmigrate into the animal realm to receive karmic retribution. Once their punishment in the animal realm concludes, they will be reborn into lowly, marginalized human lives.
“Oh, Magistrate, the karmic penalty for procurers is extremely severe. After hearing your explanation, my heart aches with sorrow, and I feel deep sympathy for beings in this trade.”
The Magistrate replied: “This line of work gravely corrupts social mores, undermines morality, etiquette and interpersonal ethics, and severely impairs people’s good original nature. For these reasons, the netherworld sovereigns impose harsh penalties on those who commit such misdeeds. From what I know, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas view these beings with compassion. They manifest in human form within this circle to guide those with good roots to turn away from wrongdoing and embrace goodness.”
We concluded today’s visit. Thank you, Magistrate. Amitabha! I departed for home by white lotus flower.
I felt truly blessed to have encountered the Great Vow Earth Store Bodhisattva within the hell realms today. The Bodhisattva was surrounded by golden light and also bestowed blessings upon me. The magnitude of the Bodhisattva’s vows is truly inconceivable.
