Those who molest and entice widows shall have no heirs for three generations. They shall undergo three hundred kalpas of suffering in hell, spend three hundred kalpas being reincarnated as insects and ants, and another three hundred kalpas as beasts. Upon their next human rebirth, they shall live in poverty and humble circumstances. Those punished in the mortal realm shall be exempt from sixty kalpas of torment. Should murder be committed alongside the offence, penalties shall be increased by three grades. Deeds of loyalty and filial piety may offset ninety percent of sins; five hundred minor virtuous deeds shall also offset ninety percent.
Those who rape virgins shall have dissolute children. They shall endure four hundred kalpas of torment in hell, then pass four hundred kalpas as insects and ants, and another four hundred kalpas as beasts and fowls. When reborn as humans once more, they shall be born into servitude. Those who have received earthly punishment shall be spared one hundred kalpas of suffering. If the crime involves taking a life, the penalty shall be increased by four grades. Acts of loyalty and filial piety may offset half of their karmic sins; four hundred major virtuous deeds shall likewise offset half.
Those who seduce virgins shall leave their bloodline heirless for two generations. They shall suffer two hundred and fifty kalpas in hell, spend two hundred and fifty kalpas as insects and ants, and another two hundred and fifty kalpas as beasts and fowls. Their next human incarnation shall be afflicted with chronic illness. Those punished in the mortal world shall be exempt from seventy kalpas of torment. If murder is committed, penalties shall be raised by three grades. Loyal and filial deeds can offset seventy percent of sins; four hundred moderate virtuous deeds provide the same offset.
Those who molest and entice virgins shall have their own wives and daughters suffer retribution on their behalf. They shall undergo one hundred kalpas of suffering in hell, one hundred kalpas as insects and ants, and another one hundred kalpas as beasts and fowls. Reborn as humans, they shall live a life of moderate poverty. Those who endure earthly punishment shall escape forty kalpas of hardship. Should the offence lead to homicide, the penalty is increased by two grades. Loyalty and filial piety may offset ninety percent of sins; four hundred minor virtuous deeds shall also offset ninety percent.
Those who rape married women shall have their wives and daughters bear retribution for their crimes. They shall endure three hundred and fifty kalpas of torment in hell, then three hundred and fifty kalpas as insects and ants, and another three hundred and fifty kalpas as beasts and fowls. When reborn as humans again, they shall become lowly attendants. Those who have received earthly punishment shall be spared one hundred kalpas of suffering. If the crime involves killing someone, the penalty shall be increased by three grades. Deeds of loyalty and filial piety may offset half their karmic sins; three hundred major virtuous deeds shall offset half as well.
Those who seduce married women shall have their lifespan shortened by two ji. According to *Baopuzi*, one ji equals three hundred days; yet according to the general rules in *Jinke Jiyao*, one ji stands for twelve years. The standard set forth in the general rules of *Jinke Jiyao* shall prevail. The offenders first endure one hundred years of torment in hell, then undergo one hundred kalpas as insects and ants, and one hundred kalpas as beasts and fowls. Upon their subsequent rebirth as humans, they shall lead a lonely life. Those who have already received punishment in the mortal realm shall be exempt from thirty kalpas of torment. If the transgression involves the loss of human life, penalties shall be increased by two grades. Acts of loyalty and filial piety may offset seventy percent of the guilt; three hundred moderate virtuous deeds likewise offset seventy‑percent of the guilt.
Those who molest and entice married women shall lose one ji of their lifespan. They shall endure seventy kalpas of agony in hell, seventy kalpas as insects and ants, and seventy kalpas as beasts and fowls. Reborn into humanity, they shall live in moderate poverty. Those who have faced mortal punishment shall escape twenty kalpas of hardship. Should a killing occur alongside the offence, the penalty shall be increased by one grade. Loyalty and filial piety may offset ninety percent of karmic transgressions; three hundred minor virtuous deeds shall also offset ninety percent.
All the three aforementioned categories: widows, virgins and married women, are unrelated persons by blood. If the victims are relatives of the offender, the punishment shall be doubled. For kin within mourning relations, the offence ranks second only to incest. Committing such acts during the bereavement period incurs penalties raised by three grades. Whether the victims are married maidservants or female servants, the punishment for licentious intercourse shall be judged in accordance with the above provisions. If the illicit relations are not consummated, the offender’s lifespan shall be shortened by half a ji (six years). Should the crime involve homicide, sentencing shall follow the rules for fully consummated adultery.
Those who engage in licentious relations with a prostitute shall have their lifespan shortened by half a year. Those who contract grave illnesses as a result shall have their lifespan shortened by one full year. Should they repent and reform, the lifespan reduction shall be remitted. Those who beget a child with a prostitute shall be reborn as a beast for an entire lifetime. Repentance and reformation can spare one from such bestial rebirth.
Those who commit licentious acts upon persons of the same sex (i.e., homosexual persons) shall incur the same karmic penalty as those who commit licentious offences against women. Those who commit licentious acts against individuals aged sixteen or older shall be judged according to the penalty for violating married women. Those who commit licentious acts against males under the age of sixteen shall be judged according to the penalty for violating virgins. Those who coerce young children shall be judged according to the penalty for consorting with prostitutes.
